Waist to Hip Ratios

A waist to hip ratio measures exactly that. Your waist compared to your hips. It is a common measurement of your fat distribution. In order to find what yours is...

Measure your waist in inches
Measure your hips (feet together) in inches
Divide your waist by your hip..

Low Risk:
.80 or below

Medium Risk:
.81-.85

High Risk
.85 and higher

Risks include diabetes, obesity, stroke and heart disease.

When you figure out where you are you will better know what you will need to do in order to lower your risk. While we cannot change the shape of our bodies we can make them healthier and less inclined for obesity related illnesses.
